GUIDELINES - PLEASE READ!

Fandom & Ships/Characters Tag Set: https://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/22576

• You can nominate up to 10 fandoms with up to 10 relationships each.


• Solo characters can be nominated in the relationships field with the format "Solo: Character Name."


• Please avoid diacritics and piping in names. (YES: Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji; NO: Lán Zhàn | Lán Wàngjī/Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn) (If AO3 automatically saves it with diacritics, don’t worry about it though.)


• If there is an official English-language localisation that differs from the original names, please use the localisation names (YES: Ash Ketchum/Gary Oak; NO: Ash Ketchum | Satoshi/Gary Oak | Okido Shigeru.)


• Disambiguating your ships/characters (Example: "Jinx/Silco (Arcane)" instead of just "Jinx/Silco") is optional - mods will add or change disambiguations if we need to. If nominating with disambigs in an already-approved fandom, please check your disambigs are in the same format to avoid duplicate tags. (Example: if "Jinx/Silco (Arcane)" is approved, don’t nominate "Caitlyn/Jinx (Arcane Netflix Cartoon)")


• RPF nominations must be for famous people 18 years old or older. Non-famous relatives or associates of famous people are not allowed.


• Nominate crossovers under Crossover Fandom, with the tag format "Character A (Fandom A)/Character B (Fandom B)."


• Original works nominations should be split by relationship category. Nominate under "Original F/F", "Original F/M", "Original M/M", and "Original Other or Solo".


• Tags with "&" will not be accepted.


• Tags including "everyone" (e.g. Bruce Wayne/Everyone) or "Other(s)" (e.g. Bruce Wayne/Other(s)) will not be accepted. Please be a bit more specific!


• "Creator's Choice of Fandom" will not be accepted.

• You can nominate up to 3 new kink tags.


• Kink tags should be kinks, sex acts, or otherwise clearly sex-related. These are not intended as general freeforms - general AUs and scenarios should go in your optional details.


• Please no fandom-specific kink tags, with exceptions for clearly sexual AU/fusion tags that can be used by a broad range of fandoms.

Notes on original works:

Same-gender groups should go under F/F or M/M.

Mixed F-and-M groups (for example, F/M/M, F/F/M) should go under F/M.

If the genders in your tag are ambiguous, try to include the ship configuration at the end of the tag -- (M/M), (F/F), (F/F/M), etc. This will help us put tags in the correct place if they wander!


Notes on franchises:
Please avoid nominating fandoms as "All Media Types" or "& Related Fandoms".

Nominate closely-linked canons of the same media type under the umbrella name -- for example, Marvel Cinematic Universe instead of individual movies, and Star Wars Cinematic Universe instead of separating the prequel and sequel movies.

All main Arrowverse shows go under "DC's Arrowverse"

Final Fantasy VII Remake goes under "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII"

Star Wars movies go under "Star Wars Cinematic Universe" (non-movie canons can be nominated separately)

Fullmetal Alchemist - please specify whether you mean Brotherhood & manga or the first anime.

Marvel movies and the Disney+ shows go under "Marvel Cinematic Universe"

Netflix Marvel shows go under "The Defenders (Marvel TV)"

Buffy and Angel the Series go under "Buffyverse"

Nominate Modao Zushi and The Untamed separately

Game of Thrones and Song of Ice and Fire - Please nominate these separately

The Witcher - Please nominate the novels, TV show, and games separately

You'll find that in the rules post here: https://smut4smut.dreamwidth.org/505.html

But basically: you need to request a minimum of 3 fandoms (max 10), each with 1-20 relationships, 1-5 archive warnings, and 4-20 kinks. Offers are the same numbers but you can offer Any (meaning any in the tagset) for relationships and kinks.

I nominated Lord Corvin/Luke Doomsday under the fandom Doomsday Books. I'm guessing it wasn't accepted because Lord Corvin is canonized under Band Sinister. But Lord Corvin is also in the Doomsday Books so it does not make sense to put this ship under crossover fandom imo.

That is probably the case! You don't have to use the canonical tag when nominating and in this case the canonical makes the ship look like a crossover. But I've approved it now.

One question: if I am planning to request stuff involving mob characters (as in the kind of nameless and almost featureless "character" that basically just exists to fuck the main character in a story), should I nominate as 'Solo: [Character]' or for '[Character]/Mob Character(s)'?

Entirely up to you which serves your purposes best! But if you go with the ship, I'd suggest "Original Mob Character(s)" just so we aren't wondering if your canon has a canonical mob.

I apologize for being troublesome. I have another question.

I wanted to nominate the same prompts under the different "Original" categories (so we could have ff mf and mm versions of them), but the system refused to save them as such. Should I nominate them all under "solo or other" and let people pick whatever genders?

ETA another question. I noticed all my OC hobbit nominations were rejected. How should I word them appropriately?

Hobbits: they need to be clear that they're original hobbits. Original Hobbitlass, etc. would work!

Original work: you just need a different disambiguation on the end to make the tag different - you can't nominate the exact same tag in different fandoms. Basically: if it's m/m put (M/M) on the end, if it's f/m put (F/M), etc.

Technically, yes - you can add an anonymous collection to works and that should keep the work anonymous after creator reveals. I don't have any objections to that. It's perfectly normal, and please feel free.

But just be aware that I will be able to see who posted every work in the collection unless it's orphaned, and there are cases where even orphaning won't remove your name completely. The maintainer of the anonymous collection will also have access to your username.

I have absolutely no intention of sharing that information, of course! But if it's important to you that absolutely no one can tell who posted a work, please bear that in mind. You might be better off creating a sock account at that point.

Fandom double: Star Wars The Clone Wars

Hi mods, looks like the subfandom Star Wars - The Clone Wars was split into two separate fandoms: "Star Wars - The Clone Wars (2008)" has 4 nominations and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types" has 18. I myself nominated ships under "Star Wars - The Clone Wars (2008)" but only one of them made the cut; all the others have wandered to the AMT fandom. Do I keep nominating under "Star Wars - The Clone Wars (2008)" or should I switch to the AMT? If so, can Cody/Darth Maul be associated with the AMT tag?

Question, one of the ships I am submitting has a character who was later revealed to have originally gone by a different name, but his newer name was the one primarily used throughout the majority of the series and what the other characters would know him as. What name should I use when adding ships for it?

(It's for The Magnus Archives. I'm being vague to avoid, well, major plot spoilers on the off chance someone in the comments might get spoiled)

Essentially: we're now in the nominations period. In order to be able to request a fandom/ship and a kink when signups open, you will need to nominate it (or someone else will need to have nominated it). A couple of days after nominations close, signups will then open.

You should be able to find all the info about the exchange in the rules post here and the nominations guidelines post you originally commented on! But if you have any questions once you've read through everything, please feel free to ask.
